Hello 7th Grade Families,
Today we worked on differentiating between compound subject and compound verb. We reviewed the concept of searching for prepositional phrases first to make the subject stand out. I explained (again) that the subject will never be in a prepositional phrase. In turn, I also explained that just because a word is a noun DOES NOT mean it is the subject. We are taking time to really pull a part these sentences to understand how they work. After taking some notes the 7th graders completed an exercise where they were only to underline the compound subject once and compound verb twice. Overall the class did a good job.

Best,
Mrs. Baier
